The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter responded to Hicks Bay for a medical event. Two patients were handed into our care by St John personnel and Nurse Practitioners who have been supporting the community since the flooding. Both patients were assessed, treated, and stabilised by the on-board critical care flight paramedic before being transported to Gisborne Hospital in a stable condition. Thank you to the local teams for their ongoing dedication and care while awaiting our arrival.
