The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter team had to pull out the night vision goggles for an early-hours flight to Te Whare Hauora o Ngati Porou/Te Puia Springs Hospital in response to a medical event. Upon landing, our on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital. Thanks again to the St John’s team who were on-scene to assist.

It was all hands on deck when the Trust Tairawhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was called to transfer a trauma patient from Gisborne to Whakatane Airport. There, they handed the patient over to the Tauranga Aerocool Rescue Helicopter team, who then completed the journey by flying them to Starship Hospital for further treatment. Teamwork!

Once again called to the East Coast, the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter attended a medical event in Tikitiki, where our on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital. Thanks to the St John Ruatoria crew for their awesome mahi before we arrived.

Responding to Ruatoria for a medical event, the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a serious condition to Gisborne Hospital. The crew thanks the ever-professional Ruatoria ambulance crew for the initial assessment of the patient, and bringing them to Whakarua Park for uplift.

Offering quick response to a medical event, the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter transferred a patient – who was in a serious condition – from Gisborne to Wellington Regional Hospital.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was called to a motor vehicle accident in Mahia, where our on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated the patient who was flown in a critical condition to Hastings Hospital.

Special thanks to the Tologa Bay volunteer fire crew and St John team for securing the holding the site, and keeping the patient comfortable until we arrived.

Thanks to the off-duty medic who helped get our paramedic to the patient and back to the helicopter.
